My Health My Resources of Tarrant County (MHMR) offers Behavioral Health, Disability and Child and Family Services for Tarrant and surrounding counties.
MHMR’s ICARE Call Center is available 24/7/365. Call or text 800-866-2465 to talk with someone about your concerns and they will help connect you to the help and services you need.
FREE family navigators for families and caregivers with children ages 0-17.

For FWISD Students:
Family Resource Center and Family Action Center for students, families and their caregivers. We help meet the social, emotional and mental health needs of students by connecting them with behavioral health resources.
Mental Health Peer Services of Greater Fort Worth offers online support groups.
The also have a Certified Peer Specialist who works with us at MHPS; she was shot when she was 17-18 years old.  She’s in her 40’s now but is willing to share her story how she was able to overcome not only the shooting but other childhood traumas to succeed in life.  She lives near the Como neighborhood.

FREE counseling (up to 8 sessions) to anyone who has been affected by the mass shooting in Como.  This can include:

  • Victims/Witnesses of Shooting
  • People in the neighborhood
  • Teachers/Students in Schools in the neighborhood
  • Members of Churches in the neighborhood
  • First responders (FWPD, Hospital nurses at JPS)

Masters level therapists provide counseling for survivors of all ages who are victims of violent crimes. Our crisis and counseling services are designed to treat trauma and promote healing. Hot line: 817-927-2737

Lena Pope provides short- and long-term counseling located near the Como area

  • Lena Pope bills most insurance, can accept Crime Victims Compensation for payment, and provides self-pay rates with scholarships available if needed

The Daily Well offers a bundle of 6 free yoga and meditation classes for anxiety. All classes are soothing to the nervous system and will help with fear, panic, and overwhelm that many of them are experiencing.

When combined with integration and therapy, Ketamine can be a very effective tool when healing from trauma.

EmpathyHQ provides 12 weeks of free counseling for Tarrant county Residents who may have experienced the following:

  • Victim of Gun Violence,
  • Youth (ages 0 – 17 or 18+ enrolled in public high school) with Proof of Need
  • At-Risk Youth and Young Adults
  • Arlington Residents of all ages
  • low/moderate income or who are homeless
  • involved with CPS due to abuse/neglect
  • victim of intimate partner violence
  • severely disabled
  • or age 62+

JPS Center for Behavioral Health Recovery offers the following services for adults 18 years of age and older:

  • New Patient Intake
  • Therapy/Counseling
  • Walk-in
  • Medication Management
  • Intensive Outpatient Service
  • Partial Hospitalization Program
  • Vocational Rehabilitation
  • Neuropsych/Psychological Testing

Recovery Resource Council offers an extensive Prevention Dept that can offer a wide range of services….primarily, evidence-based curricula with students in the schools.

They are also putting together a gun-violence prevention program!
