TBRI® Updates Training
This advanced training is designed for current TBRI® practitioners actively using the model within their agencies. The session will provide important updates on TBRI® language and terminology, offer practical tools to enhance implementation, and create space for addressing real-world challenges. Participants will also learn about a successful community model in Georgia where agencies have come together to meet shared goals through TBRI®.

Applicants must be current MHC members with licensure. The scholarship amount is $1,000 per member. A $500 balance is required by trainee upon acceptance.

The FAR Model – Familiarize, Assess, Respond – is a practical, data-informed framework designed to support community partners in addressing mental health challenges. Through this training, participants, including healthcare providers, social workers, educators, and local government representatives, will learn to identify key population segments (Familiarize), evaluate their specific mental health needs and risk factors (Assess), and design targeted, effective interventions (Respond). This model equips partners with tools to deliver more responsive, coordinated mental health care using actionable data and community insight.

Presented by Dr. Cary Adkinson of Texas Wesleyan University, this engaging workshop explores how superhero narratives and the science of heroism can be powerful tools for building psychological resilience in the aftermath of violence. Drawing on insights from neuroscience and mindfulness research, Dr. Adkinson will offer evidence-based strategies to help both survivors and their support networks cope with the emotional and psychological effects of trauma.
